About 10 years ago, before I started practising and then training to teach pilates I realised my posture was deteriorating. I looked older and when I started receiving magazines through the post advertising elasticated waisted skirts,I thought it was the beginning of the end. In shop windows I looked like a middle aged woman, which I guess its what I was, but I didn’t feel that way. My shoulders had started to round and I felt I was constantly fighting to try and stand up right and there was nothing I could do about it.
Starting pilates felt wonderful. Here at last was an exercise regime I could use to help correct all the posture faults and help me stand tall, become leaner and stronger. Now 10 years on and I think I look younger, my posture no longer ages me and I have a body I can be proud of.
